Welcome to Support Local Music in Houston

The local music scene in Houston has been thriving for decades.  No matter what the genre, live music can be heard across the city any day of the week.  From bands that play favorites from today and yesterday to those who only play all original music, there is no shortage of talent in the Bayou City.

This blog is dedicated to introducing you to local bands and their music as well as some of the venues around town.  In addition, we will introduce you to some home grown radio programs that cater to Houston's music scene.

From an early age, Shannon remembers sitting on top of her father's rig while he rehearsed with his band, "Rudy Owen and the Overland Stage".  This introduction instilled a life long love of live music.  Shannon's husband Spencer's roots run deep as the grandson of the Father of Bluegrass, Leon "Pappy" Selph.  After touring with Pappy and his Blue Ridge Boys, Spencer began playing locally and writing music for films.

Thank you for stopping by and we hope you will continue to join in the conversation.
